Brain Tumors: From Pathophysiology to Novel Diagnostic and Therapeutic Approaches
This special issue belongs to the section "Cancer Biology and Oncology".
Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
This Special Issue aims to provide a comprehensive overview of current advances in brain tumor research, spanning from fundamental pathophysiological mechanisms to innovative diagnostic and therapeutic strategies. A particular focus will be placed on primary brain tumors, such as gliomas, and secondary brain tumors, including brain metastases. Topics of interest include tumor biology and its relationship with cognitive deficits and neuropsychological outcomes, highlighting the impact of brain tumors and their treatment on cognitive functioning and quality of life. In addition, this Special Issue will emphasize emerging minimally invasive techniques, such as liquid biopsies, to improve diagnosis, disease monitoring, and treatment response assessment. By integrating clinical, neuropsychological, and translational perspectives, this Special Issue aims to bridge the gap between bench and bedside and stimulate multidisciplinary research that ultimately improves patient outcomes in neuro-oncology.
