Novel Therapeutic Approaches for the Management of Hematologic Malignancies—Updates on Targeted and Immunotherapy

Hematologic malignancies represent a diverse set of cancers that remain a leading cause of morbidity and mortality. Over the past decade, the therapeutic landscape has advanced significantly. Molecular profiling has clarified disease-defining pathways, enabling the use of targeted agents, while the use of immunotherapy has expanded through antibody-based and cellular approaches. We are pleased to invite you to contribute to this Special Issue, “Novel Therapeutic Approaches for the Management of Hematologic Malignancies—Updates on Targeted and Immunotherapy”.

This Special Issue will showcase recent advances in the contemporary management of hematologic malignancies, with a particular focus on targeted therapies and immunotherapy. We aim to highlight both the biology and the mechanistic rationale that have led to these improved patient outcomes. We welcome submissions that integrate translational insights with clinical application, address patient selection including risk-adapted strategies guided by biomarkers and minimal residual disease (MRD), define determinants of response and resistance, and inform best practices for sequencing and combining therapies.

This Special Issue will represent a high-impact collection of original research and reviews that provide updates on targeted and immune-based therapies to improve outcomes for patients with hematological malignancies.

Suggested themes and article types for submissions:

For this Special Issue, original research articles, brief reports, and comprehensive reviews are welcome. Topics of interest include (but are not limited to) the following:

• Targeted therapy updates;
• Immunotherapy updates: bispecific antibodies/T-cell engagers, antibody conjugates, and approaches targeting innate immunity and the tumor microenvironment;
• Cellular therapy: autologous CAR T-cell therapy, allogeneic CAR T-cell therapy, CAR NK Cell therapy, and strategies to optimize efficacy, durability, access, and safety;
• Rational combinations and sequencing: time-limited vs. continuous therapy, re-treatment strategies, and strategies for treatment of relapsed/refractory disease;
• Mechanisms of response and resistance, clonal evolution, mutations, and therapeutic strategies to prevent or overcome resistance;
• Biomarker and response assessment: genomics and functional profiling, MRD clinical applications, biomarker-guided therapy, escalation/de-escalation strategies, and surveillance.
