Cover Story: Photoplethysmographic (PPG) signals are widely used in wearable health monitoring, yet robust peak detection remains challenging due to noise, motion artifacts, and signal variability. This study introduces a hybrid deep learning architecture that integrates discrete wavelet transform (DWT) feature extraction with CNN–LSTM modeling and a temporal attention mechanism. The proposed approach captures both multiscale morphological features and long-term temporal dependencies, enabling adaptive peak localization under diverse signal conditions. Experimental results demonstrate improved detection accuracy and robustness compared to conventional and deep learning-based methods, supporting the reliability of heart rate analysis in real-world biomedical applications.
