Cover Story: The oxidative coupling of methyl chloride (CH3Cl) to vinyl chloride (C2H3Cl) (MCTV) is a promising but challenging route for direct C2H3Cl production. Here, a Na2WO4/cristobalite catalyst was synthesized via calcining Na2WO4/β-zeolite composites. The β-zeolite's uniform pore structure enabled geometric matching for high-loading Na2WO4 dispersion within its matrix. After calcination at 750 °C, the β-zeolite transformed into dense cristobalite while maintaining Na2WO4 nanocluster homogeneity. This optimized catalyst achieved 81.5% CH3Cl conversion, 42.4% C2H3Cl selectivity, and 34.6% yield, outperforming conventional systems. The high dispersion and thermal stability of Na2WO4 active sites contributed to sustained catalytic performance without deactivation. View this paper
