Intelligent Low-Carbon Power System Operation and Market Trading
Topic Information
Dear Colleagues,
As power systems undergo deep decarbonization, coordinating renewable integration, carbon constraints, real-time operations, and competitive electricity markets presents unprecedented challenges. This Special Issue invites original contributions on intelligent solutions for low-carbon power system operation and market trading, including but not limited to the following: low-carbon economic dispatch and unit commitment under high renewable penetration; carbon-aware optimal power flow and congestion management; integrated energy systems with carbon capture, utilization, and storage; intelligent bidding and market clearing with carbon pricing; blockchain and decentralized low-carbon energy trading; demand response and virtual power plants for emission reduction; AI-driven forecasting of renewables, load, and carbon prices; resilience-oriented low-carbon operations under extreme weather; multi-energy complementarity and cross-sector decarbonization; and large language models for operator decision support, report generation, and human–machine interaction.
All papers will undergo rigorous peer review and, upon acceptance, will be published open access in MDPI journals.

Preprints.org is a multidisciplinary platform offering a preprint service designed to facilitate the early sharing of your research. It supports and empowers your research journey from the very beginning.
MDPI Topics is collaborating with Preprints.org and has established a direct connection between MDPI journals and the platform. Authors are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity by posting their preprints at Preprints.org prior to publication:
- Share your research immediately: disseminate your ideas prior to publication and establish priority for your work.
- Safeguard your intellectual contribution: Protect your ideas with a time-stamped preprint that serves as proof of your research timeline.
- Boost visibility and impact: Increase the reach and influence of your research by making it accessible to a global audience.
- Gain early feedback: Receive valuable input and insights from peers before submitting to a journal.
- Ensure broad indexing: Web of Science (Preprint Citation Index), Google Scholar, Crossref, SHARE, PrePubMed, Scilit and Europe PMC.
