Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
This Special Issue aims to collect contributions that empirically investigate the effects and challenges of digital transformation in the public sector. In particular, the interest is in cases that analyze the use of big data and analytics and artificial intelligence for decision-making as well as for the design and delivery of public services to citizens.
Furthermore, the Special Issue will consider theoretical contributions aimed to clarify the key characteristics that eventually connect or differentiate digitalization from the use of information and communication technology for e-government or provide insights and models for digital governance.
Finally, we welcome studies that investigate value creation and value capture in the digital transformation of government internal activities and external services as well on new forms of participation and deliberation.
This Special Issue focuses on, but is not limited to, the following topics:
- Artificial Intelligence in the public sector;
- Automated decision making and policy-making;
- Digital governance and social innovation;
- Digital innovation and co-creation in public services;
- Digital participation;
- Digital transformation and alignment in public administration;
- Ethical aspects of the digitalization of the public sector;
- Value creation and value capture in digital public services.
