Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

In a world that increasingly faces challenges both with regard to political and ecological instabilities, we find it imperative to reflect these challenges in relation to each other for a meaningful contribution to their solution. Accordingly, this Special Issue on “Finding Common Ground. Conservation and Conflict Resolution/Prevention” will focus on how environmental factors can be a means of fostering global consensus and cooperation rather than generating conflict.

We are interested in a range of submissions from various disciplines that consider conceptual aspects of environmental peace‑building and ecological planning for regional cooperation. Case studies which are empirically ground and have theoretical insights drawn from them are also welcome. How sustainability science can be an effective means of changing perceptions of social and ecological conflicts would also be very appropriate for this issue. Collaborative papers between academics and environmental practitioners as joint authors are particularly encouraged.
