Dear Colleagues,
We are pleased to announce this Special Issue of the journal Sustainability, titled "Sustainable Urban Housing: Adaptive Thermal Comfort in a Changing Climate." This Special Issue aims to compile cutting-edge research on the sustainable design and governance of urban residential environments, focusing on architectural, technological, and socio-economic dimensions.
We invite contributions that advance adaptive thermal comfort strategies and develop practical frameworks for sustainable urban housing. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to, the following: bioclimatic design methodologies; innovative passive and active cooling technologies; smart building systems for thermal regulation; occupant behavior and comfort perception studies; resilient building envelope solutions; nature-based approaches for urban heat mitigation; housing policy and governance models; the role of data science and remote sensing in urban microclimate monitoring; and strategies for climate adaptation in residential sectors.
We welcome original research and reviews that present novel data, methods, or analyses. By synthesizing the latest scientific advancements and management insights, this Special Issue aims to directly inform policies and practices for the long-term sustainable development of thermally resilient, energy-efficient, and equitable urban housing worldwide.

Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-anonymized peer-review process. Sustainability is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.

Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
