Circular and Green Sustainable Polymer Science
A section of Polymers (ISSN 2073-4360).
Section Information
Today’s intense search for non-oil-derived polymeric materials from renewable resources of superior performance and lower cost, but based on novel approaches, is evident in the whole field of polymer chemistry. This Section, which is dedicated to Circular and Green Sustainable Polymer Science, is aimed at collecting cutting-edge original research papers and reviews on the main areas where novel approaches, conceptual or applied, are taken to the fundamental chemistry, mechanisms, applications, engineering, and technologies of “green” bio-sourced polymers from sustainable materials under development and particular focus, and throughout the vast variety of polymers in use today, none being excluded, with even mixed synthetic/bio sourced semi-green polymers being included. An important focus of this Section is on ‘Circular” Polymer Science and Technology, including the important aspect of recycling, a topic that has acquired and is continuing to acquire particular importance. “Circular” also means “Sustainable Development”, this being a particularly topical subject of great topical interest today which will become even more important in the future. Polymer Science and Technology for Environmental Ecology is also comprised in this Section, which is particularly focused on what is currently of primary importance in all sciences and what will be important in the future.
