Bioactive Compounds and Lifestyle Strategies in Metabolic Syndrome
This special issue belongs to the section “Nutrition and Metabolism“.
Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
Metabolic syndrome is a major global health concern characterized by obesity, dyslipidemia, insulin resistance and hypertension, all of which increase the risk of cardiovascular disease and diabetes. Emerging evidence highlights the potential of bioactive compounds and lifestyle-based interventions, such as dietary patterns and physical activity, in preventing and managing these conditions. This Special Issue, “Bioactive Compounds and Lifestyle Strategies in Metabolic Syndrome”, aims to gather original research, reviews and clinical studies addressing the role of nutraceuticals, functional foods and behavioral strategies in improving metabolic health. Topics of interest include antioxidant and anti-inflammatory mechanisms, modulation of lipid and glucose metabolism, effects on gut microbiota, and the integration of diet and exercise interventions. By bringing together multidisciplinary perspectives, this issue seeks to advance understanding and promote sustainable, evidence-based strategies for the prevention and management of metabolic syndrome.

Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process.
