Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
Overweight is a growing global health concern, contributing significantly to the burden of non-communicable diseases such as type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and certain cancers. Dietary management and physical activity represent central, evidence-based pillars of both prevention and treatment. However, despite the well-recognized benefits of these interventions, challenges persist regarding their adherence, sustainability, and personalization. Recent advances highlight the importance of balanced, nutrient-rich dietary approaches, behavioral strategies to promote long-term lifestyle change, and the role of exercise in improving metabolic health and enhancing overall well-being. Multidisciplinary and individualized approaches are essential in effective weight management.
This Special Issue will explore the current state of knowledge and innovative strategies at the intersection of nutrition, exercise, and overweight management. We invite contributions addressing clinical trials, behavioral interventions, public health strategies, and real-world implementation, with a particular focus on the need for personalized interventions that adapt to the biological, psychological, and social dimensions of each individual. Therapeutic patient education will be highlighted as a cornerstone of care, empowering people living with overweight and obesity to develop the skills, autonomy, and resilience required for the sustainable long-term management of these conditions.
