His research expertise is in the identification of volatile compounds in complex samples using advanced analytical techniques, including gas chromatography–mass spectrometry (GC-MS), olfactometry, and proton transfer reaction mass spectrometry (PTR-MS). His research interests include flavor generation in foods, fermentation science, hops, beer aroma, and dynamic flavor release during consumption and how the food chemistry relates to sensory perception.
