Acute Care Surgery and Surgical Intensive Care
This special issue belongs to the section "Intensive Care/ Anesthesiology".
Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
We are pleased to invite submissions to the Special Issue on “Acute Care Surgery and Surgical Intensive Care” in Medicina. Over the past decades, acute care surgery has evolved into a distinct and essential discipline, integrating trauma surgery, emergency general surgery, and surgical critical care. Advances in resuscitation strategies, perioperative management, minimally invasive techniques, and critical care support have significantly improved patient outcomes in this high-acuity population.
Despite these advancements, challenges remain in optimizing timely interventions, standardizing care pathways, and addressing the growing complexity of critically ill surgical patients. Ongoing research and multidisciplinary collaboration are crucial to further enhance evidence-based practices and improve survival and recovery.
This Special Issue aims to provide a platform for clinicians, researchers, and healthcare professionals to share innovative findings, clinical experiences, and emerging concepts in the field. We welcome original research articles, reviews, meta-analyses, and perspectives that contribute to advancing knowledge and practice in acute care surgery and surgical critical care.
By contributing to this Special Issue, authors will play an important role in disseminating valuable insights to a global audience, fostering collaboration, and shaping the future of care for critically ill surgical patients.
We look forward to your valuable contributions.
