Fiscal Policy, Tax Systems, and Financial Stability
This special issue belongs to the section "Economics and Finance".
Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
This Special Issue brings together cutting-edge research that explores the complex interactions between fiscal policy, tax systems, and financial stability. It aims to advance scientific understanding of the channels through which public spending, taxation, and fiscal governance influence financial markets, institutions, economic performance, risk dynamics, and systemic resilience in modern economies.
This Special Issue welcomes theoretical, empirical, and policy-oriented contributions that examine the role of fiscal policy in promoting sustainable economic growth while mitigating financial vulnerabilities, including public debt sustainability, countercyclical policy design, and fiscal responses to economic shocks and crises. Particular attention is given to the structure and efficiency of tax systems, their impact on investment decisions, capital accumulation, productivity, and risk-taking behavior, as well as their implications for financial intermediation, market stability, and economic growth.
Topics of interest include, but are not limited to, the following: fiscal–monetary policy interactions; sovereign risk and its transmission to the financial sector; short- and long-term effects of fiscal measures on economic growth and stability; taxation and financial innovation, including digital economy taxation; tax policy coordination across jurisdictions; and other emerging challenges in the global fiscal landscape. Both developed and emerging economies are of interest, as well as cross-country comparative studies and policy-oriented analyses.
By bringing together insights from public finance, financial economics, and risk management, this Special Issue seeks to provide a deeper understanding of how fiscal and tax policies can foster sustainable economic growth, support stable financial systems, and enhance resilience to future shocks.
