Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
E-commerce finance is rapidly evolving, driven by technological advances, changing consumer preferences, and the need for greater efficiency and security. It is characterized by a strong interdisciplinary approach that combines research areas such as finance, information systems, computer science, economics, and consumer behavior. Financial services are becoming more accessible to consumers as alternative payment methods such as digital wallets, real-time payment networks, and local payment solutions begin to replace traditional payment methods, while flexible payment options and the emergence of a new, convenient way to make digital payments continue to gain ground. Open banking is challenging traditional banks by offering customers innovative and personalized services, while cryptocurrency payments are being explored, especially for niche products. Currently, optimal working capital and liquidity management in online commerce has become a critical issue due to rapidly changing inventory levels, the availability of different payment methods with different settlement times, and the need for ongoing investment. Artificial intelligence and machine learning are becoming an integral part of e-commerce operations management, as they allow for the analysis of consumer behavior, prediction of purchasing habits, and improvement of e-commerce operational efficiency.
This Special Issue encourages papers examining, but not limited to, the following topics:
- The Interplay of e-commerce, digital finance, and financial inclusion;
- Embedded finance in e-commerce;
- Supply chain finance in the digital age;
- The impact of emerging technologies on e-commerce payments and security;
- AI and machine learning for fraud detection;
- Financial performance and business models in e-commerce;
- Consumer behavior and payment preferences;
- Cybersecurity and data privacy;
- Financial risk management in e-commerce;
- Optimized working capital and cash management.
We look forward to your contributions.
