Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Adolescence and young adulthood are critical stages of growth and development during which physical fitness, body composition, lifestyle behaviors, and sports participation may have important implications for health and physical performance. Understanding the interactions among these factors is essential for identifying determinants of health, optimizing physical development, and informing effective exercise and training strategies.

We are pleased to invite you to contribute to this Special Issue titled, “Physical Fitness, Body Composition, Health, and Sports Performance in Adolescents and Young Adults”.

This Special Issue aims to provide contemporary evidence on the assessment, determinants, interrelationships, and health- and performance-related implications of physical fitness and body composition in adolescents and young adults. It also seeks to highlight the role of physical activity, exercise, training, growth, and biological maturation in shaping health and sports performance across these developmental stages.

In this Special Issue, original research articles and reviews are welcome. Research areas may include, but are not limited to, cardiorespiratory and muscular fitness; body composition and anthropometry; growth and biological maturation; physical activity and sedentary behavior; exercise and training interventions; sports performance; athlete health; cardiometabolic and musculoskeletal health; health-related outcomes; and novel methods for assessing physical fitness and body composition.

We look forward to receiving your contributions.
