Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

We are excited to invite you to submit your research to a Special Issue in Hematology Reports focusing on the topic “Re-Defining Immune-Mediated Hematological Disorders: Mechanisms and Therapeutic Opportunities”.

Autoimmune and immune-mediated hematological disorders represent a major and growing clinical and scientific challenge. These conditions, including thrombo-inflammatory syndromes, bone marrow-targeted autoimmune processes and others, affect patients across all age groups and are associated with substantial morbidity and mortality. Advances in immunology over the past decade have revealed that aberrant interactions between immune cells, blood components, and the vascular system are central to disease pathogenesis, positioning these disorders at the crossroads of hematology, immunology, and vascular biology.

Despite this progress, major challenges remain. Current therapeutic approaches largely rely on broad immunosuppression, transfusion and anticoagulants and antiplatelet agents, which are frequently associated with incomplete efficacy, toxicity, and long-term complications. At the same time, emerging concepts on how those pathologies develop are reshaping our understanding of autoimmune and immune-mediated hematological disease. These advances create timely opportunities to translate mechanistic insights into more precise diagnostics and targeted therapies.

This Special Issue is dedicated to showcasing and disseminating the latest advances in autoimmune and immune-mediated hematological disorders. We welcome contributions that explore emerging concepts, innovative methodologies, and novel therapeutic strategies in this rapidly evolving field.

Topics of interest include, but are not limited to, the following: Aplastic Anemia, Fetal and Neonatal Cytopenia, Immunothrombosis, Immune-mediated thrombocytopenia, Acquired Coagulopathies, Cytokine Storms, Antiphospholipid syndrome, Autoimmune Hemolytic Anemia, Evans syndrome, Paroxysmal Nocturnal Hemoglobinuria, Immune-mediated Transfusion Reactions, Endocarditis, and iTTP/aHUS.

We invite contributions from authors at all career stages. Please share this opportunity with your early-career colleagues and other professionals in your network who may be interested. Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-anonymized peer-review process. Hematology Reports is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
