Person-Centered Care and Rehabilitation in Aging and Dementia Care
This special issue belongs to the section "Clinical Care".
Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
Global population aging, accompanied by the rising prevalence of dementia, calls for innovative, integrated and sustainable approaches to care and rehabilitation. A similar approach aims to consider the uniqueness of the human being alongside clinical conditions, ultimately promoting the dignity and social inclusion of older adults, people with dementia and their caregivers (i.e., relatives/friends who provide care and assistance).
This Special Issue aims to publish original studies and reviews (of any type) promoting the development, implementation and assessment of person-centered practices that recognize each person’s individuality (needs, preferences, life history and social context) alongside clinical conditions. Multidisciplinary interventions in any setting (home, hospital, community) designed to support functional independence and improve the overall well-being of older adults and people living with dementia are welcome. Interventions may deal with caregiver support and/or with the use of assistive technologies or other personalized rehabilitation strategies.
We look forward to receiving your contributions.
