Healthcare 2024 Travel Award
Dear Colleagues,
We are pleased to announce that Healthcare will be granting the Travel Award to two junior scientists. The applications will be assessed by an Evaluation Committee consisting of senior scholars from the Healthcare Editorial Board.
This award provides financial support for the winners to attend an international conference in the fields of healthcare systems, industry, technology, policy, and regulation to be held in 2024, in order to hold a presentation, present a poster, or both.
Candidate Requirements:
– Postdoctoral fellows or PhD students.
– Plans to attend an international conference in 2024 (oral presentation or poster).
Required Application Documents:
– Information on the conference the applicant is planning to attend and the abstract that will be submitted.
– Curriculum Vitae and list of publications.
– Justification letter describing the focus of the research (max. 800 words).
– Letter of recommendation from the supervisor, research director, or department head, which also confirms the applicant’s status as a postdoctoral fellow/PhD student.
The winners (two awardees) will each be awarded CHF 500 and a certificate.
Please submit your applications for the Healthcare 2024 Travel Awards online by 31 October 2023. Prizes will be awarded at the end of December 2023 and announced on the Healthcare website.

Healthcare 2023 Best PhD Thesis Award
Dear Colleagues,
The journal Healthcare is inviting applications for the 2023 Best PhD Thesis Award. This prize will be awarded to a PhD candidate or a doctor who has produced a highly anticipated academic potential dissertation. The applications will be assessed by an evaluation committee led by Editor-in-Chief, Dr. Rahman Shiri.
Eligibility and Requirements
– The candidate must be a PhD student or recently qualified PhD who has produced a dissertation with great academic potential;
– The PhD thesis must be the candidate’s original work;
– The PhD thesis must be defended from November 1st 2022 to 31st December 2023.
Required Application Documents
– An executive summary of the PhD thesis in English of around 3000 words;
– A letter from the PhD supervisor recommending the candidate for consideration for this award;
– The candidate’s CV, including a list of publications related to the thesis;
– An electronic copy of the PhD thesis;
– A scanned copy of the PhD diploma (or certificate of studying at a school or research institute as a PhD student going to graduate or participate in graduation thesis defense).
Selection Criteria
– Quality of resume and the article-based dissertation;
– Relevance of the candidate and research findings;
– Originality and impact of the research;
– Novelty of the candidate’s PhD thesis.
Prizes
– A bonus of CHF 800.
– A certificate.
– An offer to publish one paper free of charge in Healthcare after peer review before the end of 2024.
The application deadline is 29 February 2024. The winner will be announced on the Healthcare website by the end of April 2024.

Healthcare 2023 Young Investigator Award
Dear Colleagues,
We are pleased to announce that Healthcare is now inviting nominations for the Healthcare 2023 Young Investigator Award. This prize will be given to one young investigator in recognition of their excellence in the field of healthcare systems, industry, technology, policy, and regulation. All nominations will be assessed by an Evaluation Committee led by the Editor-in-Chief, Dr. Rahman Shiri.
The prize:
− CHF 2000;
− Option to publish one paper free of charge in Healthcare after peer review before the end of December 2024;
− A certificate.
Eligibility and Requirements:
− Must have received their PhD no more than 10 years prior to 31 December 2023;
− Must have produced ground-breaking research and a significant contribution to the field of health care systems, industry, technology, policy, and regulation;
− Must be nominated by senior scientists.
List of Documents for Nomination:
– Detailed curriculum vitae, including an updated publication list and a list of the researcher’s own research grants;
− A scanned copy of doctorate certificate;
− Signed nomination letters from two established senior scientists.
