Abiotic and Biotic Stress in Forest and Plantation Trees

Dear Colleagues,

The incidence of abiotic and biotic stress in trees is increasing globally, leading to escalating concerns for forest protection, biodiversity, the provision of ecosystem services, biosecurity, economic production, and rural livelihoods. Tree declines are now present in most geographical regions in the world, extending from cold temperate to tropical forests. The objective of this Special Issue of Forests is to explore, using review articles and original research papers, the major abiotic and biotic stressors that have caused or incited significant tree decline and mortality in natural and planted forests over the past decade. It will also explore the recent drivers of change, global threats, risk management, and related topics.

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. Forests is an international peer-reviewed open access monthly journal published by MDPI.
