Dear Colleagues,
Forested catchments can experience myriad disturbances, including wildfires, insect outbreaks, and managed disturbances (among others), that impact the hydrologic function of their ecosystem. The impacts on the hydrologic cycle can be widespread and vary depending on the geomorphic and climatological setting, the type and severity of the disturbance, whether it is a press or pulse disturbance, and the weather events following the disturbance event. Furthermore, it is increasingly common for catchments to experience multiple disturbances in a short period, making it difficult to disentangle the impact of one disturbance event from another. Understanding the impacts of single or compounding disturbances may be critical in predicting future forest changes, hydrologic resilience, and downstream community responses and water resource planning. For this Special Issue, we encourage submissions exploring hydrologic responses and/or changes following all types of disturbances (including natural and managed disturbances) in forested catchments. Submissions of papers reporting all types of investigations are welcome, including experimental studies, monitoring approaches, and models. This Special Issue will gather works that add to the growing field of disturbances and forest hydrology.

Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. Forests is an international peer-reviewed open access monthly journal published by MDPI.

Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
