Cloud Computing and Big Data Mining—2nd Edition
This special issue belongs to the section "Cloud Continuum and Enabled Applications".
Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
Cloud computing and big data mining are evolving rapidly through advances in distributed systems, artificial intelligence, machine learning, edge computing, and cloud-native software engineering. As analytics become increasingly integrated with distributed applications, attention is shifting beyond performance and scalability toward resilience, governance, explainability, compliance, and runtime adaptation. Hybrid and multi-cloud architectures, together with virtualization, containerization, and orchestration technologies, are enabling more flexible, intelligent, and self-adaptive computing environments.
This Special Issue provides a forum for high-quality research on emerging architectures, algorithms, and methodologies for big data analytics using distributed cloud computing resources. We welcome contributions on cloud and edge architectures, distributed data mining, AI and ML in cloud services, policy-aware orchestration, AI governance, self-healing and self-regulating systems, autonomic and autopoietic computing, and knowledge-driven approaches to resilient distributed infrastructures. We particularly encourage submissions that examine paradigm shifts in distributed AI and cloud systems, including intrinsically governed and adaptive architectures, as illustrated by recent research on Mindful Machine systems, as published in the first edition of this Special Issue.
We invite high-quality papers that discuss the technologies and methodologies advancing big data analytics utilizing distributed cloud computing resources.

Manuscript Submission Information
Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the Special Issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-anonymized peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Computers is an international peer-reviewed open access monthly journal published by MDPI.
Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 1800 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
