Computers 2024 Best Paper Award
Dear Colleagues,
We are pleased to announce the “Computers 2024 Best Paper Award” for research and review articles published in Computers from 1 January 2022 to 31 December 2022. One review and one research article will receive an award each. The papers will be selected after a thorough evaluation by the journal Award Committee led by the Editor-in-Chief, Prof. Dr. Paolo Bellavista.
Eligibility for the Award:
– Papers published in Computers from 1 January 2022 to 31 December 2022;
– Open to all career levels;
– Both regular and Special Issue submissions will be considered.
Selection Criteria:
The papers will be selected by the journal Award Committee according to the following criteria:
– Scientific merit and broad impact;
– Originality of the research objectives and/or the ideas presented;
– Creativity of the study design or uniqueness of the approaches and concepts;
– Clarity of presentation;
– Citations and downloads.
The Prize:
– One review award: CHF 500 and a chance to publish a paper free of charge in Computers in 2024 after peer review;
– One research article award: CHF 500 and a chance to publish a paper free of charge in Computers in 2024 after peer review.
– Each winner will also receive a certificate.
The winners will be announced on the journal website in April 2024.

Computers 2021 Travel Award
Dear colleagues,
Our journal is pleased to announce the winner of the Computers 2021 Travel Award. The evaluation committee was very impressed with the high quality of presented work, and after careful consideration, the Travel Award has been granted to one winner: Umberto Michieli from University of Padova.
Mr. Umberto Michieli is a Computer Vision and Deep Learning enthusiast, and his research goal is to contribute to the continual adaptation process of AI into everyday life. In particular, his interests include continual learning and unsupervised domain adaptation applied to semantic segmentation. The former is a recent research field being explored with output-level and latent representation-level techniques. The latter is more consolidated in the literature, and his work is aimed at enriching neural network capabilities using self-training strategies based on generated pseudo-labels. Mr. Umberto Michieli would like to attend International Conference on Computer Vision (ICCV) 2021, Montreal, Canada, 11–17 October 2021. The award consists of 800 Swiss Francs to attend this conference.
We would like to thank all of the applicants for submitting details of what was a diverse and fascinating range of research topics. We also would like to thank the members of the evaluation committee for their comprehensive evaluation of the candidates. Finally, I wish to congratulate the winner on his accomplishments.

Computers 2019 Travel Award
Dear Colleague,
As Editor-in-Chief of Computers, I am pleased to announce the winner of the 2019 Computers Travel Award on behalf of the Travel Award Evaluation Committee.
The winner is Emilio Cruciani, Ph.D. student in Computer Science at the Gran Sasso Science Institute, whose primary research activity is on the analysis of dynamical processes of networks and on the design of scalable algorithms for large datasets. He is planning to orally present his work "Scalable Approaches for Test Suite Reduction" at the prestigious 41st International Conference on Software Engineering (25-31 May 2019, Montréal, QC, Canada). The award consists of 800 Swiss Francs to attend this conference.
The Travel Award winner selection was a difficult process as we received many high-quality applications for the award and we thank all applicants for their valuable submissions. Let me take the opportunity to thank also the Travel Award Evaluation Committee, which worked promptly and rigorously to determine the winner. We wish to congratulate Mr. Emilio Cruciani for his accomplishments.
