Dear Colleagues,
Lateral flow assays (LFAs) have garnered significant attention since the SARS-Cov-2 pandemic. Once antigenic lateral flow assays were developed, they quickly replaced RT-qPCR testing centres as the most popular method of COVID-19 diagnostics. This can be attributed to their true point-of-care nature since they meet all of the World Health Organization’s ASSURED criteria. However, there are still challenges with LFA development, and exciting technological advances to improve their diagnostic performance and make them quantitative are being widely investigated. This Special Issue focuses on all recent advances in lateral flow assays developed for biosensing applications, including the development of lateral flows for new biomarkers and technological and material advances that improve lateral flow assay performance.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. Biosensors is an international peer-reviewed open access monthly journal published by MDPI.
