Recent Advances in Nutrition and Metabolism

Dear Colleagues,

Nutrition and metabolism are central to human health, disease prevention, and the management of acute and chronic disorders. Recent advances in molecular biology, metabolomics, microbiome research, clinical nutrition, and personalized medicine have substantially expanded our understanding of how nutrients, metabolic pathways, and dietary interventions influence physiological function and disease mechanisms. This Special Issue, “Recent Advances in Nutrition and Metabolism”, aims to provide an interdisciplinary platform for original research articles, reviews, and clinical studies addressing current developments in nutritional science and metabolic medicine.

Topics of interest include, but are not limited to, the following: nutrient metabolism, metabolic biomarkers, obesity and cardiometabolic disease, malnutrition, pediatric and adult clinical nutrition, inborn errors of metabolism, gut microbiota, nutrigenomics, dietary interventions, nutritional support, and the role of nutrition in neurological, inflammatory, hepatic, renal, and endocrine disorders. We particularly welcome studies integrating mechanistic insights with clinical relevance, as well as translational research that may improve diagnosis, monitoring, prevention, or treatment strategies.

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-anonymized peer-review process. Applied Sciences is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
