Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

The rapid proliferation of Internet of Things (IoT) devices has transformed modern communication systems, enabling seamless connectivity across diverse applications such as smart cities, healthcare, industrial automation and autonomous systems. However, this expansion has also introduced significant security challenges due to the resource-constrained nature of IoT devices, heterogeneous network architectures and the increasing sophistication of cyber threats. Artificial intelligence (AI) has emerged as a promising solution to address these challenges by enabling intelligent, adaptive and scalable security mechanisms.

This Special Issue aims to explore recent advances in AI-enabled security techniques for IoT communications. It seeks to bring together researchers and practitioners to present innovative methodologies, frameworks and applications that leverage machine learning, deep learning and other AI paradigms to enhance the security, privacy and resilience of IoT systems. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to, intrusion detection and prevention, anomaly detection, secure communication protocols, privacy-preserving mechanisms, adversarial machine learning, blockchain integration and trust management in IoT networks.

The Special Issue will also emphasize real-world deployments, performance evaluations and case studies that demonstrate the effectiveness of AI-driven security solutions in practical IoT environments. By addressing both theoretical and applied aspects, this issue aims to provide a comprehensive platform for advancing secure and intelligent IoT communication systems.

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-anonymized peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Algorithms is an international peer-reviewed open access monthly journal published by MDPI.

Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 1800 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
