Lightweight and AI-Driven Cybersecurity Algorithms for IoT Networks
This special issue belongs to the section "Algorithms for Multidisciplinary Applications".
Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
The exponential growth of the Internet of Things (IoT) introduces unprecedented security challenges, demanding a paradigm shift beyond conventional cybersecurity. This Special Issue, "Lightweight and AI-Driven Cybersecurity Algorithms for IoT Networks," aims to collate cutting-edge research on innovative strategies to secure the rapidly expanding IoT ecosystem.
We invite contributions addressing the unique vulnerabilities of resource-constrained, heterogeneous IoT devices and networks that emphasize the algorithmic aspects of the innovative methods. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to: AI and machine learning for IoT threat intelligence; lightweight cryptographic algorithms, algorithms for IoT intrusion detection, and AI/ML algorithms for security optimization; blockchain for decentralized trust and integrity; security protocols for low-power networks (e.g., LPWAN); intrusion detection systems tailored for IoT; and privacy-preserving data handling. Submissions may also explore secure architectures, firmware analysis, and real-world case studies. The authors are encouraged to submit papers that clearly demonstrate algorithmic novelty or methodological contributions (e.g., design, analysis, and optimization), including works focused on systems, architectures, and real-world applications.
This Issue will serve as a vital resource for researchers and practitioners, fostering the development of resilient, intelligent, and proactive security frameworks essential for the safe adoption of future IoT applications. We welcome high-quality original research and review articles.

Manuscript Submission Information
Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the Special Issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-anonymized peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Algorithms is an international peer-reviewed open access monthly journal published by MDPI.
Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 1800 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
