Cover Story: When compared to other modern construction techniques, cob construction faces a real issue possibly limiting its large-scale rollout. This concerns construction times. With cob, construction times are usually long, and sometimes, weather-dependent. These long construction times are mainly due to the lack of knowledge regarding the drying kinetics of mixtures. Thus, this work aimed first to understand cob’s drying process in situ and its impact on mechanical performances. The second aim of this research was to propose a simple tool allowing the evaluation of cob’s hydromechanical performances in situ. View this paper
