Cover Story: The primary contribution of this work is the development of schedules for electric buses resilient to extreme conditions that also consider multiple depots, charging stations, and stochastic travel times. The proposed model is a mixed-integer linear program (MILP) with chance constraints. The decision variables include assigning electric buses to trips and scheduling charging events to maintain daily operations under uncertainty. Numerical experiments using GTFS data from Krakow (ZTP) and a sensitivity analysis of travel time variations show that excluding chance constraints leads to operational costs 49% to 75% higher than in a case where stochastic travel times are not considered. This underlines the effectiveness of the proposed model and the broader need to incorporate uncertainties when scheduling the operations of electric buses. View this paper
