Cover Story: Social determinants of health (SDOH) profoundly impact cancer care, influencing access to treatment, outcomes, and survivorship. These factors—ranging from socioeconomic status to geographic location—create significant disparities, often exacerbating cancer-related morbidity and mortality, particularly in underserved populations. Despite progress in cancer care, inequities persist, particularly for racial and ethnic minorities, the elderly, and those living in rural areas. The following review explores how SDOH affect cancer care and proposes targeted interventions to reduce disparities, promoting equitable care for all patients. View this paper
