Modern System-Based Approaches in Pharmaceutical and Biomedical Research
Topic Information
Dear Colleagues,
We are pleased to announce a call for papers on the Topic "Modern System-Based Approaches in Pharmaceutical and Biomedical Research".
Modern pharmaceutical and biomedical research has shifted from single-target strategies to integrated frameworks that examine interactions at the molecular, genetic, and computational levels across the drug development process. This collection brings together original research articles, systematic reviews, meta-analyses, and methodological papers related with the entire process of drug discovery and pharmacological development.
Some of the main themes include (but are not limited to) the following:
- Nanotechnology-based delivery systems and other innovative formulations including cocrystals, ionic liquids, deep eutectic solvents, and inclusion complexes;
- Drug discovery for the identification of novel leads from synthetic and natural compound libraries including computational technologies and advanced analytical and biophysical methodologies;
- Personalized therapy, molecular biology and targeted pharmacological treatments;
- Drug repurposing strategies which use safety profiles to find novel therapeutic uses for compounds that have already received approval.
System-based pharmaceutical and biomedical research has evolved from a theoretical aspiration into the dominant model in modern drug development, in order to develop safer, more effective, and increasingly personalized pharmacological therapies.

Preprints.org is a multidisciplinary platform offering a preprint service designed to facilitate the early sharing of your research. It supports and empowers your research journey from the very beginning.
MDPI Topics is collaborating with Preprints.org and has established a direct connection between MDPI journals and the platform. Authors are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity by posting their preprints at Preprints.org prior to publication:
- Share your research immediately: disseminate your ideas prior to publication and establish priority for your work.
- Safeguard your intellectual contribution: Protect your ideas with a time-stamped preprint that serves as proof of your research timeline.
- Boost visibility and impact: Increase the reach and influence of your research by making it accessible to a global audience.
- Gain early feedback: Receive valuable input and insights from peers before submitting to a journal.
- Ensure broad indexing: Web of Science (Preprint Citation Index), Google Scholar, Crossref, SHARE, PrePubMed, Scilit and Europe PMC.
