Dear Colleagues,
The increasing occurrence of emerging organic pollutants—such as pharmaceuticals, personal care products, endocrine-disrupting chemicals, and per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS)—in aquatic environments poses significant risks to ecosystems and public health. Conventional water treatment technologies often fall short in effectively removing these recalcitrant contaminants. Advanced oxidation processes (AOPs) have emerged as powerful and versatile solutions, leveraging highly reactive species to achieve near-complete mineralization. This Special Issue aims to bring together cutting-edge research related to the development and application of AOPs for the elimination of emerging organic pollutants from water and wastewater.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-anonymized peer-review process. Water is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
