Travel Award

The Viruses Travel Award was launched in 2016 and is presented annually to encourage junior scientists to present their latest research at academic virology conferences. This award helps to raise the profile and visibility of these up-and-coming researchers. The application period is open from September 2025 to January 2026, and the winners will be announced by the end of March in 2026.

Prizes:
– CHF 800.
– An award certificate.

Eligibility and Requirements

– Candidates must be postdoctoral fellows, PhD students.
– Candidates should have plans to attend an international conference in 2026 (oral presentation or poster).

List of Documents for Application

– Information on the conference that the applicant is planning to attend and the abstract that will be submitted.
– Curriculum Vitae and a list of publications.
– Justification letter describing the focus of the applicant’s research (max. 800 words).
– Letter of support from the applicant’s mentor.
