Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
The unique and diverse physical and chemical properties of 2D nanosheets (graphene, phosphorene, MXene, hexagonal boron nitride, transition metal dichalcogenides such as MoS2, etc.), such as a large surface area; unique electronic structure; exceptional electronic, optical and thermal properties; and excellent mechanical strength, improve textile performance (e.g., enhancing protection against various environmental factors, including heat, cold, flame, chemical and ballistic threats, as well as providing electrical conductivity or insulation), which far exceed the functionalities of traditional textile products and, thus, their applicability in various fields, ranging from (opto)electronics to biomedical, aerospace, environmental and energy applications. In addition to clothing, such textiles can offer solutions to a wide range of industrial challenges in the technical sector.
We invite you to submit manuscripts related to the progress of research on technologies for integrating these 2D materials into textiles (fibers, yarns and fabrics), including coating, printing, extrusion, spinning, and other advanced surface deposition methods (e.g. plasma, CVD, PVD etc.), as well as their configuration for simultaneous multifunctionality and increased performance and utility, crucial in the development of next-generation textile materials.
Contributions, including research articles and reviews, are welcome from experts from all over the world.

Manuscript Submission Information
Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Textiles is an international peer-reviewed open access quarterly journal published by MDPI.
Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 1200 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
