Renewable Energy Integrated Power Systems for Optimal Control, Operation and Sustainable Power Supply
Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
This Special Issue will address the critical global imperative to combat climate change and ensure long-term energy security by accelerating the transition to sustainable power systems. The shift from fossil-based infrastructure to renewable energy sources represents one of the most profound technological and socioeconomic transformations of our time. We aim to explore technological innovations, policy frameworks, economic models, and analyses of the socio-environmental impacts related to renewable energy deployment. The scope of this Special Issue includes, but is not limited to, solar, wind, hydro, biomass, and geothermal energy, as well as means to facilitate the utilization and accommodation of renewable energy. By fostering this holistic dialogue, this Special Issue aims to generate actionable insights for designing energy futures that are not only low-carbon and resilient, but also equitable, accessible, and aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals across diverse global contexts.
This Special Issue seeks to bridge gaps between technological potential and practical implementation while also highlighting the role of policy, governance, and community engagement in achieving sustainable energy systems. Contributions are expected to align with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy) and SDG 13 (Climate Action).

Manuscript Submission Information
Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Sustainability is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 2400 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
