Achieving Sustainability through Educational Advances: Deep Dives into Social, Economic, and Environmental Perspectives

Dear Colleagues,

Sustainable development comprises three fundamental dimensions—social, economic, and environmental—that are essential for harmonious coexistence in modern society. Education, with its broad spectrum of specialties and approaches, plays a pivotal role in this realm, not only mirroring these dimensions but also acting as a catalyst for their integration and advancement. This Special Issue will explore how various educational specialties specifically address each of these dimensions, both individually and collectively.

The social dimension focuses on human well-being, equity, and inclusion; the economic dimension emphasizes prosperity and financial viability; and the environmental dimension centers on the preservation and sustainable management of our natural resources. Contributions from diverse educational specialties that delve deeply into a single dimension, offering a detailed and specialized view, are of particular interest.

Potential topics include (but are not limited to):

• Approaches from different specialties to the social dimension of sustainable development.
• The economic dimension in specific curricula.
• Integration of environmental aspects from specific educational perspectives.
• The challenges and approaches of each dimension according to the educational specialty.
• Case studies focused on a single dimension from various specialties.

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a double-blind peer-review process. Social Sciences is an international peer-reviewed open access monthly journal published by MDPI.
