The Pathogenesis of Infectious Poultry Diseases
Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
The poultry industry is a key pillar of global food safety and food security; however, bacterial and viral diseases continue to pose a major threat to it, resulting in serious economic losses and public health risks. Accurate and rapid diagnosis, effective preventive measures, and innovative treatment strategies are essential to ensure the health of poultry and improve production efficiency.
Remarkable progress has indeed been made in current research areas such as pathogen genomics, novel diagnostic tools, vaccine development, and alternatives to antimicrobial drugs. However, the accelerated mutation of pathogens, the increasing severity of drug resistance, the frequent occurrence of emerging and re-emerging infectious diseases, and the growing consumer concern about food safety and drug residues remain huge challenges facing industry.
This Special Issue aims to compile cutting-edge research on bacterial and viral diseases in poultry. We welcome original research papers, reviews, and case reports covering disease diagnostic technologies, etiology, epidemiology, immunoprevention strategies, new treatment methods (including rational use of antimicrobial drugs and alternative therapies), and comprehensive prevention and control measures. We hope to build a platform for researchers to communicate and learn from each other.

Manuscript Submission Information
Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the Special Issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-anonymized peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Pathogens is an international peer-reviewed open access monthly journal published by MDPI.
Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 2400 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
