This Special Issue "Environmental and Nutritional Strategies to Optimize Performance and Recovery in Athletes" explores cutting-edge research and practical applications aimed at enhancing athletic performance and accelerating recovery through targeted interventions. Athletes are challenged by diverse environmental conditions such as heat, altitude, and pollution, which can significantly impair physiological function, endurance, and cognitive performance. Simultaneously, evidence-based nutritional strategies—including macronutrient manipulation, hydration, antioxidant supplementation, and periodized nutrient timing—play a critical role in maintaining homeostasis, reducing inflammation, and supporting immune function during intense training and competition. As part of this issue, we invite the submission of original research articles, reviews, and clinical trials that examine the synergistic or isolated effects of environmental and dietary interventions on athletic performance, physiological adaptation, fatigue mitigation, injury prevention, and recovery kinetics. Emphasis should be placed on integrative approaches that account for individual variability, sport-specific demands, and the interactions between environment, nutrition, and molecular responses. The aim is to offer scientifically grounded recommendations for athletes, coaches, sports scientists, and clinicians, contributing to personalized, evidence-based protocols that optimize outcomes in high-performance settings.
