Scope
The Materials Chemistry Section of the journal Molecules publishes high quality original research and review articles across all fields of materials chemistry, at the interdisciplinary interface between chemistry, biotechnology, chemical engineering, physics, and materials science. The Section invites all contributions reporting on either theoretical or experimental studies about synthesis, properties, characterization, and application of materials.
In particular, the research areas of interest of the Section are new organic and inorganic materials, including biomaterials, nanomaterials, hybrid materials, core-shell materials, thin films, and self-assembling systems. Furthermore, the Section covers studies related to understanding the synthetic procedures as well as the tailored or unusual properties of materials, in a multidisciplinary scenario aiming to highlight the recent developments in the Materials Chemistry field. Papers about materials processing, new characterization routes, tailored applications of new or known materials are also welcome.
