Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
We are pleased to announce the second edition of the Special Issue “Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation and Replacement: Prospects and Challenges—2nd Edition”, following the success of the first edition, which brought together valuable contributions on expanding indications, procedural innovations, and clinical outcomes in TAVI. For more details, please visit: https://www.mdpi.com/journal/jcm/special_issues/95Z39O9TDA.
Over the past decade, TAVI has revolutionized the treatment of aortic stenosis; however, important questions remain. Current knowledge gaps include the long-term durability of transcatheter valves compared with surgical bioprostheses in younger patients, the role of TAVI in bicuspid anatomy and patients under 70 years of age, and the management of coronary and valve interventions after TAVI or SAVR. Further evidence is also required for the transcatheter treatment of pure aortic regurgitation, the impact of procedural volume on outcomes, and the equitable global adoption of valve interventions, particularly in middle- and low-income countries.
This second edition aims to build on the foundation established in the first edition by welcoming original research, reviews, and real-world data on patient selection, novel devices, procedural innovations, long-term outcomes, and structural considerations for complex TAVI scenarios. Our goal is to foster international collaboration and generate evidence to refine practice and expand access to life-saving valve interventions.

Manuscript Submission Information
Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Journal of Clinical Medicine is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 2600 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
