Particle Detectors and Accelerators

A section of Instruments (ISSN 2410-390X).

Section Information

This section is dedicated to the instruments and methodologies for detecting, identifying, and characterizing elementary particles, nuclei, and radiation. It covers the entire spectrum of detector technology, from fundamental principles and novel sensor materials to the design, simulation, and performance of operational systems. Topics of interest include gas-based detectors, scintillators, semiconductor detectors, calorimeters, cryogenic detectors, photomultipliers, and silicon photomultipliers (SiPMs). This section also welcomes research on particle accelerators and their components, such as beam dynamics, radiofrequency cavities, superconducting magnets, injectors, and beam diagnostics. Topics of interest further include readout electronics, data acquisition systems, and instrumentation for large-scale projects at accelerator facilities and observatories worldwide.
