The Molecular Basis of Vascular Pathology: 2nd Edition
This special issue belongs to the section “Molecular Pathology, Diagnostics, and Therapeutics“.
Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
In recent years, the dynamic development of biomedical research has significantly changed the way in which vascular diseases are perceived. Advances in molecular biology, genomics, proteomics, bioinformatics, and translational medicine have opened new possibilities for identifying the underlying mechanisms of vascular dysfunction and their links to systemic diseases. It is becoming increasingly clear that vascular pathologies are not isolated diseases, but rather a common factor in many cardiovascular, neurological, metabolic, autoimmune, and oncological conditions.
The second edition of this Special Issue, "Molecular Basis of Vascular Pathology," addresses the growing need to integrate knowledge from various fields of basic and clinical sciences. We wish to focus specifically on studies that bridge experimental observations with their potential clinical significance. This will facilitate a deeper understanding of the heterogeneity of vascular diseases, aid the identification of new biomarkers, and contribute to the development of personalized therapeutic strategies.
We invite scientists, researchers, and clinicians from various medical specialties to submit original research papers, reviews, and translational studies. Topics may include innovative research models, new therapeutic targets, modern diagnostic methods, and the clinical implications of vascular function disorders. These challenges include cardiovascular diseases, diabetic vascular complications, inflammatory and autoimmune diseases, and the impacts of environmental factors and lifestyle on vascular function. Studies utilizing modern technologies, large-scale analyses, and precision and personalized medicine approaches are particularly valued.
We hope that this Special Issue of the IJMS will facilitate knowledge exchange, inspire further research, and foster a deeper understanding of complex vascular processes, leading to improved patient diagnosis and treatment.

Manuscript Submission Information
Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. International Journal of Molecular Sciences is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. There is an Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal. For details about the APC please see here. Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
