Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

The APA (2001) defines psychological assessment as a problem-solving process of identifying and using relevant information about a person, groups or institutions for the purpose of decision-making and recommendations.

This Special Issue aims to cover an array of topics with interest focused on the development, implementation and validation of new assessment tools in clinical psychology that can improve the quality, precision and efficiency of psychological assessments, as well as planning and therapeutic decision-making. This includes evaluation of novel psychological processes and constructs (for example, transdiagnostic assessment in emotional disorders or in at-risk mental states), tools for following the therapeutic process (measurement-based care) that can show sensitivity to symptomatic change as well as in psychosocial functioning, satisfaction, and quality of life. It can also include evaluation instruments for specific populations (for example, severe mental disorders, disability, adolescence, elderly, ethnic minorities, immigrants and other vulnerable populations) and technology-based assessment procedures using IT tools and apps, virtual reality, mobile or portable devices. Papers on empirical studies and rigorous systematic reviews/meta-analyses on this subject will be welcome.
