Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
Large-scale energy consumption and serious environmental pollution are growing problems worldwide, and the key to solving energy and environmental problems lies in putting in place appropriate environmental regulations to stimulate companies' willingness to innovate in green technologies. However, the incentive mechanisms of environmental regulatory instruments for innovation are very different and strongly influenced by external factors. The complex relationship between different tools and intensities of environmental regulation and green technology innovation has been the focus of attention by academics, enterprises, and government departments. At the same time, in the digital economy, advanced intelligent technologies, with their high penetration, intensive knowledge creation, and extensive empowerment, are reshaping economic structures and changing innovation paradigms, profoundly influencing the means and ways of environmental pollution management and assessment, the forms and methods of environmental regulation, the intensity and paradigms of green technology innovation, and the relationship between environmental regulation and green technology innovation. This Special Issue invites papers that address any of the above themes, particularly those that employ advanced analytical tools (e.g. machine learning and causal inference methods) to conduct high-level academic research on environmental regulation and green technology innovation in the digital economy.
