Intelligent Vehicle Control and Simulation
This special issue belongs to the section “Industrial Electronics“.
Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
Intelligent vehicles offer a promising solution to many of the challenges facing the transportation industry, including reducing the number of accidents caused by human error, enhancing traffic flow, and improving fuel efficiency. However, to fully reach this technology’s potential, significant technical challenges must be overcome. One of the key challenges is the development of robust and reliable control algorithms that can ensure the safe and smooth operation of intelligent vehicles in a wide range of driving scenarios, including complex urban and highway environments. Furthermore, highly complex, nonlinear vehicle dynamics pose significant challenges to the development of control systems.
This Special Issue seeks to gather the latest research and developments in the field of intelligent vehicle control and simulation. We invite submissions that address a broad range of topics related to this field, including advanced control system designs, dynamic modeling and simulation, and machine learning approaches. Specifically, topics of interest include but are not limited to the following:
(1) Dynamic analysis, control, and simulation of intelligent vehicles;
(2) Energy-efficient control and optimization for intelligent vehicles;
(3) Data-driven approaches to vehicle dynamic modeling and simulation;
(4) Analysis, estimation, and control of driver/brake/steer/suspension-by-wire systems;
(5) Driver-vehicle-road system analysis, control, and simulation;
(6) Cooperative and coordinated control of multiple autonomous vehicles;
(7) Off-road vehicle high maneuverability control;
(8) Human–machine shared planning and control of intelligent vehicles in mixed traffic scenarios;
(9) Safety-oriented motion planning and control of intelligent vehicles.

Manuscript Submission Information
Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Electronics is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 2400 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
