Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Basal cell carcinoma (BCC) is the most common type of skin cancer, affecting millions worldwide. It originates in the basal cells of the epidermis and presents with many faces, among other features: shiny bumps, often with ulcerations, whitish plates resembling scars, and scaly patches growing on areas such as the face, scalp, trunk, and arms. While BCC grows slowly and rarely metastasizes, its early detection and appropriate treatment are crucial to preventing local tissue damage and recurrence.

This Special Issue aims to explore the latest advancements in BCC diagnosis, treatment, and prevention. Topics of interest include innovative diagnostic techniques, surgical and non-surgical treatment modalities, targeted therapies, and strategies for long-term management and prevention. We welcome both original research articles and review papers that provide insights into improving patient outcomes and addressing challenges in BCC care.
