Selected Papers from the 1st International Online Conference on Behavioral Sciences Conference
Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
This Special Issue aims to bring together innovative, interdisciplinary, and impactful research in behavioral science, reflecting the breadth of topics presented at the First International Online Conference on Behavioral Sciences (IOCBS2026), held online on April 1–3, 2026. Furthermore, this Special Issue looks to advance the scientific understanding of human behavior across psychological, social, developmental, health, educational, organizational, psychiatric, and clinical contexts.
Behavioral science is inherently interdisciplinary, drawing on psychology, neuroscience, psychiatry, education, public health, sociology, and related disciplines to understand the factors that shape human behavior and well-being. Accordingly, this Special Issue seeks contributions that move beyond disciplinary boundaries and provide new empirical evidence, theoretical perspectives, methodological advances, and practical applications.
We welcome original research articles, systematic reviews, meta-analyses, theoretical contributions, and methodological papers addressing a broad range of topics, including but not limited to:
- Psychiatric, emotional, and behavioral disorders;
- Cognition, decision-making, and behavior;
- Developmental and child/adolescent behavioral science;
- Educational and learning-related behaviors;
- Social psychology and interpersonal behavior;
- Health psychology and health-related behaviors;
- Organizational behavior and workplace well-being;
- Behavioral neuroscience and neuropsychology;
- Experimental and clinical approaches to human behavior;
- Behavioral interventions and prevention;
- Technology, digital environments, and emerging behavioral phenomena;
- Cross-cultural and population-based perspectives on behavior;
- Innovative methods for behavioral science research.
The Special Issue provides an opportunity for researchers who participated as presenters, contributors, or attendees (at IOCBS2026) to develop and extend their conference work into a full, rigorous scholarly manuscript. Submissions should go substantially beyond the content of a conference abstract or presentation and should present sufficient theoretical development, methodological detail, analysis, and discussion.
However, participation in IOCBS2026 is not a prerequisite for submission. We also welcome high-quality contributions from researchers whose work aligns with the scope of the Special Issue.

Manuscript Submission Information
Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-anonymized peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Behavioral Sciences is an international peer-reviewed open access monthly journal published by MDPI.
Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 2400 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
