Dear Colleagues,
Affective disorders represent a leading cause of disability worldwide, yet prevailing diagnostic frameworks continue to struggle with high comorbidity, marked heterogeneity and a limited ability to guide treatment selection or predict outcomes. At the same time, rapid advances in neuroscience, computational modeling and dimensional approaches to psychopathology are reshaping how affective disorders are conceptualized and studied across the globe. Transdiagnostic frameworks respond directly to these challenges by focusing on shared mechanisms, symptom dimensions and neural circuits that cut across traditional diagnostic categories, offering a more integrative and clinically actionable understanding of affective dysfunction. This Special Issue is therefore timely and significant, bringing together perspectives that reflect a broader shift toward precision psychiatry and personalized mental health care. Together, the articles illustrate how integrating transdiagnostic dimensions with brain network models can advance a circuit-based, personalized approach to treating affective disorders.
This Special Issue aims to present and disseminate the most recent advances related to transdiagnostic approaches to affective disorders. We invite contributions that address transdiagnostic frameworks for the understanding and treatment of affective disorders, with emphasis on dimensional models, brain network approaches and mechanism-focused interventions.

Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-anonymized peer-review process.
