Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
The field of intelligent agent systems has emerged as a relevant area of modern artificial intelligence, offering transformative solutions across a wide array of domains. Intelligent agents, defined as autonomous entities capable of observing, reasoning, and acting upon their environment to achieve specific goals, are revolutionizing how we approach complex problems in a wide range of domains such as education, transportation, security, healthcare, finance, and environmental sustainability.
In education, intelligent agents are enhancing learning through tailored training and tutoring systems. In transportation and logistics, intelligent systems are improving traffic management and supply chain efficiency. Security applications include advanced cybersecurity measures, intrusion detection, and surveillance systems, ensuring both digital and physical safety.
Healthcare benefits from intelligent diagnostic systems and patient monitoring, leading to better health outcomes. In finance, intelligent agents optimize automated trading, financial forecasting, and fraud detection, increasing operational efficiency and risk management. Environmental sustainability efforts are being supported by intelligent systems for disaster response, achieving the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals.
This Special Issue aims to address the theoretical and practical advancements in intelligent agent systems, fostering interdisciplinary collaboration and innovation. By exploring their theoretical foundations, new challenges, and applications, we hope to drive forward the capabilities of intelligent systems, paving the way for a smarter, more efficient, and sustainable future.
We are pleased to invite you to contribute to this Special Issue, as it aims to bring together cutting-edge research and innovative solutions addressing the diverse theoretical problems and practical applications of intelligent systems across various domains.
In this Special Issue, we aim to gather novel theoretical, methodological, and technological approaches, in the form of literature reviews, empirical studies, case studies, challenges, strategies, and lessons learned in the design, application, and evaluation of intelligent systems, software agents, and multiagent systems. Manuscript Submission Information
Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Applied Sciences is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 2400 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
