This special issue belongs to the section "Biomedical Engineering".
Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
In an era where health and wellness are increasingly intertwined with technology, the Special Issue “Innovative Wearable Sensors for Health Performance Evaluation” explores cutting-edge advancements in wearable devices designed to monitor, assess, and enhance human health and physical performance. This collection delves into the latest innovations in sensor technologies, including flexible biosensors, AI-integrated wearables, and non-invasive monitoring systems that track vital signs, activity levels, biomechanical data, and physiological responses in real-time. Contributors will highlight applications across diverse fields such as sports medicine, chronic disease management, rehabilitation, and preventive healthcare, addressing challenges like data accuracy, user privacy, energy efficiency, and integration with IoT ecosystems. This Special Issue aims to bridge the gap between engineering, biomedicine, and data science, showcasing interdisciplinary research that pushes the boundaries of personalized health evaluation.
We warmly invite researchers, engineers, clinicians, and innovators to submit their original work, sharing novel designs, experimental validations, case studies, and future perspectives on wearable sensors. Your contributions will foster a vibrant dialogue on transforming health performance through technology. To our readers—academics, practitioners, and enthusiasts alike—we hope this Special Issue inspires new ideas and applications, providing actionable insights into the evolving landscape of wearable health tech.

Manuscript Submission Information
Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the Special Issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-anonymized peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Applied Sciences is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 2400 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
